Jesper Simonsen

Jesper Simonsen's area of expertise is participatory design and he is currently doing research on participatory design in the healthcare sector. Since 1991 he has conducted research in collaboration with industry on IT design - research focused on how IT designers can cooperate with users and their management especially when relating to the clarification of goals, formulation of needs, and design and evaluation of coherent visions for change. 

His current research program on 'effects-driven IT development' investigates how and to which extent vendor and customer engage in participatory design processes driven by measurable and formative effects, including agile development and implementation of healthcare systems solutions with proven utility value.

One of his latest papers ("Positive effects of electronic patient records on three clinical activities") has been appointed for the best paper in the 2009 IMIA Yearbook of Medical Informatics.
